The donorcar

Citroën has produced in 45 years over more than 5 million 2CV's.

The 2CV is incredibly well thought through and engineered.

The idea behind a kitcar is simple
Remove the standard body of a 2CV and replace it by a new polyester body. In order to construct your kitcar, every 2CV or Dyane is -in principal- suitable as a donorcar. Those that are not suitable for the kitcar produced by us, are the Ami and the Dyane. The reason why is because of the longer wheel case and chassis. Other important differences are, for instance, the axel, the fueltank, the handbrake and the shock-absorber-unit.

Before you buy your donorcar, be aware that there are a lot more different versions of the 2CV and the Dyane on the market than you might think. The fastest way to build a kitcar is, of course, on a base of a good chassis. Although the possibility to find such a good chassis is very rare, if you are so lucky to find a new chassis mounted, be sure that the chassisnumber is stamped.

A 2CV with a perfect chassis is far more expensive, and therefore not a very cheap solution. The best option is to buy a donorcar with a chassis in a bad shape and buy an official new chassis.

Burton Sport-Car España sl., can deliver such, which is necessary to get your kitcar homologated. In general one could say that the condition of a possible donorcar appears to be in a worse condition than one expects it to be. Fortunately the body and the entire interior will not be used for your kitcar so that won’t be a problem. Be sure to have a donorcar with a complete license. The fact that our kitcar is based on the chassis of a 2cv, your operational costs such as fuel, tax, spare parts and insurance, will be low.

For those who never have driven a 2CV before, the suspension cylinder and the roadholding of this car will be a unique experience.
